It's doing everything you can for someone and hoping they'll return it to you, but not demanding it. It's going all in with your heart, actions, and intentions, but not requiring someone to reciprocate. The best way to love someone is to open your heart to them without forcing them to do the same. It's not about keeping track of who wins and who loses. It is not about equality. It's not about what they can do for you; it's about what you can do for them.

It brings you to life. It makes you more of who you are, not any less. It will provide you with the extra push you need to reach your full potential. Paying attention entails recognizing the fears and doubts hidden behind our beloved's smile after a long day at work and inquiring about them. It's knowing the sadness masked by a smile. It's giving them a hug when they're quiet, a back rub when they're exhausted, and a quick kiss when they're in doubt. A love that pays attention is a love that notices everything and works to make it better.
